Round Two Pick 34- Rock Ya Sin (CB)-Temple
I have to start by saying I love the pick of Ya Sin. He’s a physical, gritty press style corner that will add much needed toughness and competition to an already stable cornerback room for Indy. My two knocks on him would be his limited time playing division one, and his need for further development in zone defense, which the Colts use at a higher rate than almost any other team in the NFL. The plus side is, with Pierre Desir, Kenny Moore, and Quincy Wilson already in place the Colts can allow for Ya Sin to develop. I expect him to be a rotational piece early, and earn more playing time as the season goes on, much like Quincy Wilson did in 2018. Rookie Impact- 5/10
Round Two Pick 49- Ben Banogu (EDGE)-TCU
While not initially crazy about the pick of Banogu (Pronounced ban-uh-goo), once hearing Chris Ballard state that they were going to be playing him mostly at SAM linebacker, I became much more intrigued by the pick. The Colts played former 7th round pick Matthew Adams at SAM in 2018, but did not use their base 4-3 set that utilizes a SAM-backer all that often. I believe the high selection of Banogu will lead to SAM being utilized more because of his athleticism and ability to rush the passer. This will allow for more scheme creativity for Defensive coordinator Eberflus. Rookie Impact-7/10 (Would be higher if not for limited usage of SAM backer)
Round Two Pick 59- Parris Campbell (WR)-Ohio State
The only offensive player taken on the first two days of the draft by the Colts, Campbell helps bolster the WR room along with fellow newcomer Devin Funchess. The former Buckeye brings two major traits to the offense: Speed and YAC. A former running back who ran a 4.31 at the combine, simply put the kid can fly. Frank Reich is excited to have him as a part of the offense, and frankly so am I. Reich and Sirianni will find ways to incorporate him, despite his limited route tree. Rookie Impact-8/10

Round 3 Pick 89- Bobby Okereke (ILB)-Stanford
One of my favorite picks of our draft, I believe that Okereke brings the length and speed to be an ideal running mate for Darius Leonard. However, Anthony Walker is a more than capable MIKE backer, so even if his only impact comes in passing situations, I think Okereke makes our defense much more dynamic. Rookie Impact-6/10
Round 4 Pick 109- Khari Willis (SS)-Michigan State
Not a huge fan of this pick, especially given how much Ballard and Co. like him, however I think Willis is a capable backup, and a quality addition to the locker room. I think he is a sure tackler, and will provide some supplementation to Clayton Geathers. Rookie Impact-3.5/10
Round 5 Pick 144- Marvell Tell (S->CB)- USC
Developmental pick coming with a position switch, he should make the team this year given his physical traits, however will have a limited impact in his rookie year. Rookie Impact-2/10
Round 5 Pick 164- E.J. Speed (LB)-Tarleton State
While difficult to gauge his production because of his small school origins, it is not difficult to know he will not upsurp Darius Leonard at WILL backer. He will at most be a depth piece in 2019. Rookie Impact 2/10
Round 6 Pick 199- Gerri Green (EDGE)-Miss State
Green, despite having solid testing numbers, had a very limited impact at Mississippi State. I do not believe he is guaranteed a roster spot. Rookie Impact 1.5/10
Round 7 Pick 240- Jackson Barton (OT)-Utah
Barton will come in and provide depth and competition among the offensive line. However, with the offensive line returning all starters he will most likely be a player to watch get moved to the practice squad. Rookie Impact 1/10
Round 7 Pick 246- Javon Patterson (C)-Ole Miss
Being in the same situation as Barton, I also would not guarantee him a roster spot. Rookie Impact 1/10
